Delaney baptism

Delaney was baptized this morning and overall, it went really well. She smiled and was charming during the ceremony, no one fell down(this was a major concern of mine! I had to walk up marble steps, wearing heels and holding a baby ... with NO HAND RAIL!!!) ... all in all it was a success, except .... for a few funny Jake moments.

He is obsessed with his Grandparents and we knew that if he saw them before the service there was no way he would stay with us and go up to the alter for the baptism, so we spent all morning trying to hide him from the Grandparents as they were arriving. So we get in, walk up to the alter area and the minister starts talking. About halfway through the ceremony Jake starts looking around at the crowd and yells out "There's Grams!"!! Luckily, everyone thought it was funny. After the baptism portion was over the congregation clapped and that startled and confused Jake so HE started crying and then he cried the whole walk out of the church. Poor guy.

We had a brunch after and it was nice to visit with all of our in and out of town family. All in all it was a nice day. Here are a few pictures.
